Worship
Bible Text: Acts 2:46-47 | Speaker: Glen Boardman | Series: Church Defined | The Bible is clear concerning the mission of the Church. It is not complex – it is actually quite simple. The Great Commandment calls us to love God and others; the Great Commission calls us to share God’s story with all people. But how do we implement them both? Acts 2 creates an intentional journey for every church to follow. Join us as we examine the structure the earliest believers adopted in our new preaching series “Church: Defined”.
Study Question
As we go through our current sermon series, we’ll be discovering characteristics of the Early Church found in the Book of Acts. Read Acts 2:42-47 and identify some of those characteristics. Can you find some of those same characteristics here at Grace Community Church? If so, talk about what they are and how they are expressed.
Worship is a passionate commitment of our hearts. What are you passionate about? Do these things/people take a higher standing in your life than your passion for God?
Pastor Glen said, “God doesn’t seek or need our worship, but he wants worshipers.” Think about that and talk about what that means.
We can worship God in many ways. Share with one another some other ways in which you can worship God. Use some of the following verses as a guide:
Singing (Ephesians 5:19)
Commitment (Romans 12:1,2)
Praying (Psalm 95:6)
Hearing the Word (John 17:17)
Giving (1 Corinthians 16:1,2)
Baptism (Romans 6:3,4)
Meditating (Habakkuk 2:20)
Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
