How is the “battle” going for you in your spiritual life? Are you winning or losing? Charging forward or retreating? Fully armed or totally defenseless against the devil’s schemes? What would you like to change with God’s help? Consider sharing this with a trusted friend in Christ and asking them to pray for your success.
 The Bible is called the “sword of the Spirit” and is both a defensive and offensive weapon against the devil’s schemes. There were four major schemes of the devil mentioned in the sermon: doubt, deceit (lies), division, discouragement. These can become strongholds of the devil in our lives. Which one is most prevalent in your life at this time? Ask God to show you how you can use His Word, the sword of the Spirit, to demolish that stronghold. Who can you reach out to for guidance and prayer support?
In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus used the word of God both as a defensive and offensive weapon when tested by Satan? What steps can you take to improve on using the word of God as a weapon against the schemes of the devil in your life?
