Forgiveness of Sins

Series:
Service Type:
The Apostles’ Creed is a framework for essential Christian beliefs; it is not a series of checklists that one must agree with in order to be a Christian. Rather, it is the place where we begin our conversations about who God is, His redemptive story in the universe, and what that means for the world, His church, and us, as disciples of Jesus. Join us on Sundays in our new teaching series We Believe where we look at the Apostle’s Creed and the unity we have together in Christ.

We would like to stay connected to you!

We encourage you to spend some time with God this week and go a bit deeper on this topic. Please consider these study questions for further reflection:

Question 1
Forgiveness of sins has to start with acknowledging we are all sinners and need God's forgiveness. That only comes when we realize that we fall so utterly short of his perfect standard. Forgiveness happens when we repent of our sin, or turn from it, and turn our hearts back to God. Have you done this in your life?

Question 2
As you consider God's forgiveness for you, do you believe it is complete? Do you believe that he can forgive you without keeping any record of your wrongs? If not, what is it that has you doubting it?

Question 3
Is there someone in your life that has sinned against you, or hurt you where you need reconciliation? Even if it means there is not a future relationship with that person, have you released that debt? Take time and ask God to help you forgive as you have been forgiven.
